Bullworker Exercises - Isometric Exercises

The Bullworker was developed by a German, Gert Koelbel, in the 1960's. The device works on the principles of isometrics. Here, the muscles of your body are statically contracted.

The Bullworker is an extremely simple piece of equipment and also a very durable one. It consists of two spring-loaded cylinders which can be contracted so that exercises can be performed with resistances of hundreds of pounds.

At either ends of the cylinders are hand grips. Two cables are also attached to the hand grips, allowing exercises to be performed by pulling them.

The Bullworker comes fitted with a gauge so that you can assess how well you are progressing.

Sometimes derided by the fitness industry, many people swear its effectiveness.

The Bullworker is a very portable device, so exercises can be performed while on holiday or even in the office.

Here are probably the two simplest exercises you can do with this piece of equipment:-

Chest Compression

1. At chest height, hold the Bullworker in front of you.

2. Compress it as far as you can and hold for 10 seconds.

3. Slowly release.

Chest Cable Twist

1. Grab the cables while holding your hands about 10 inches apart.

2. Slowly, twist the cables as far as you can and hold for 10 seconds.

3. Slowly release.
